The Advanced Management Programme (AMP) at Calwest University is a comprehensive General Management programme designed to help C-Suite leaders build exceptional levels of strategic, high-performance and self-aware leadership skills. It was specifically designed for experienced General Managers with 10 years in management and with at least 5 years in higher-level management.

COVID-19 Changes – Courses Now Open to All ICMA Members

With the outbreak of the Covid-19 Pandemic the university was requested by its sponsor, the Institute of Certified Management Accountants (ICMA), to make available the courses within the AMP to ICMA members irrespective of their level of experience. This was because, in most countries around the world, respective governments have asked all personnel in non-essential services to stay at home as much as possible due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Some governments have issued community lock-down orders and even rolling curfews. These conditions are expected to last at least 6-months.

Those that are asked to stay at home or being forced to work from home are finding more and more free time on their hands. Family interactions are being affected by the social distancing practices recommended even within the home. The traditional methods of home entertainment, such as reading books and newspapers have long been replaced by watching TV; be it free-to-air or video streaming services.

Rather than binge-watching television, ICMA members are urged to use their free time to future-proof themselves to remain relevant in the post-COVID-19 business environment. To this end, the university is permitting ICMA at all membership levels (i.e. CMA, AMA, GMA, RBA, RCA, CAT, and MAA) to undertake individual courses in its Advanced Management Program (AMP) at significantly discounted prices.

Hard work and a little luck were all that was required. Oddly, alongside that belief was another contradictory one that anyone who was or became rich must have become so by unethical activity and behavior. As such, there is now a growing consensus that ethics has a role to play in business, the public view of business is still expressed in what can be called the Myth of Amoral Business. This business ethics course studies the Myth of Amoral Business, by offering an introduction into the concept of values, morality, as well as cultural beliefs and upbringing in all areas of business, from consumer rights to corporate social responsibility. Decisions made by shift managers or corporate presidents may affect thousands of individuals or entire communities. Consumers today expect and demand integrity, honesty, and transparency in all levels of their environment. Understanding those expectations is the key to communicating core values and behavior not only to employees, but society in general.	3
