Facilities & Equipment

Calwest University's campus is in the 'cloud'. This means that physical facilities are limited to an administrative office run in Northridge, California, USA; and a web management office in Melbourne, Australia.

All operations are hosted on secure cloud infrastructure with scalable resources and multiple points of presence around the world. The physical locations of servers are secure, and data is replicated across multiple locations, providing built-in disaster recovery and high availability.

Calwest's learning platform is a purpose-built Learning Management System that provides a comprehensive virtual learning environment for all students. The platform delivers interactive slide-based course content, timed assessments, and real-time progress tracking. The storage of all data regarding courses, students, grades, and web content is via an encrypted database with automated backups. Calwest's website is built on Next.js, a modern web framework that ensures fast load times globally. Student fees payment management, including the use of credit card facilities, is managed via Bank of America's secure payment gateway system with PCI-compliant tokenized card processing.

A 'cloud campus' refers to network-based educational platforms and student services delivered through virtualized infrastructure. Cloud resources can be scaled up or down on demand without affecting the student experience—enabling Calwest to serve students across all time zones, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

By operating entirely in the cloud, Calwest avoids the capital expenditure of physical infrastructure and instead focuses investment on the learning experience itself. These cost savings are passed directly to students, enabling them to obtain a world-class education at a fraction of the costs charged by traditional universities with physical campuses.
