Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be an ICMA member?
Yes. Calwest programs are exclusively for existing ICMA members. You must obtain ICMA membership before applying.
Does Calwest recognize credits from another institution?
Recognized Prior Learning (RPL) Credit is given for those who have completed a degree program or obtained an equivalent professional qualification on a case-by-case basis. Different membership grades of ICMA are given different RPL credit for the MBA program. Contact admissions for details on the RPL credit policy.
How long does the program take?
Programs are self-paced. Duration varies based on individual study commitment. Contact admissions for typical completion timelines. Students do the courses at their own pace. However, the maximum time limit to complete Graduate programmes of 12 courses (e.g., MBA) is 5 years. For Graduate programs where substantial credit has been granted (e.g., MBA for CMAs), the maximum completion time is 2 years. For Doctoral degree programs (e.g., DBA), the maximum time limit to complete is 7 years. For programs where substantial credit has been granted for the coursework components (e.g., DBA for MBAs), the maximum completion time is 3 years.
Are there face-to-face components?
Programs are 100% online. Optional face-to-face tutorial seminars are available for an additional fee.
